Mario Gotze joins Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich


German sources confirm Borussia Dortmund play maker Mario Gotze is joining rival Bayern Munich at the end of the season.

Pep Guardiola made his first signing by triggering the bumper release clause in the contract of the Germany star.

The 20 year old was tipped to be the next Messi is expected to play the false number nine role in Guardiola’s team next campaign.

The former Catalan coach, who won 14 trophies in three successful seasons at the Nou Camp, has agreed to take over as Bayern manager this summer.

And Dortmund confirmed the first big move of the new era this morning with Gotze heading the Bundesliga champions.

Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke: “We are obviously disappointed beyond measure.

“But we emphasise both Mario and his advisers have behaved absolutely in conformity with the contract.”

Gotze has made a great impact in the Borussians success since making the senior debut for his childhood club in 2009. The little German has netted 31 goals in 114 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s BVB.
