Kompany to stay at City

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany confirms he has no plans to quit— even if the European superpowers are interested in him.

The Belgian also urged former Arsenal man Samir Nasri to stay and help them launch another title tilt next campaign.

The 27 year-old has been linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona since he lifted the Premier League trophy last season.

He said: “I have no reason to go elsewhere.

“I am happy here, I have five years left and if you knew the plans for this team for the future... I consider that to be a real objective.”

He added: “We are already preparing for next season and, if Samir can keep up this level of performance, we will really have an exceptional player.”

Kompany has 5 years left in his current contract and has played 149 games for The Citizens since his arrival from Hamburg in 2008.
